Operational Management in an Oil and Gas Company

The operations team at Sumu Energy focuses primarily on oil and gas exploration, extraction, and production. With 100 years of combined experience, we’ve been able to create an effortless division between upstream, midstream, and downstream tasks.

• Upstream: The hunt for reservoirs from around the world and simultaneous drilling of oil and gas wells for extraction of the raw materials makes the upstream segment the highest investment capital, technologically intensive, extended duration, and high risk. Note: the supply chain within the oil and gas industry always starts with explorations conducted by geological or geophysical technicians for the availability of petroleum resources.
• Midstream: Responsible for transporting extracted raw elements from the wells to the refineries via trucking, shipping, or pipelines. This particular oil and gas production unit segment has been marked as high regulation but low capital risk.
• Downstream: The oil and gas extracted must undergo an extensive refining process for removing the impurities and converting the raw materials into products the public consumes daily, such as gasoline, asphalt, and heating oil. Afterward, the finished product may be advertised for sale.
